In-N-Out Clone; Pigs Wanted Drifter's Hamburgers

I got IM'd by a friend and told he and his wife were eating lunch at Drifter's today, and I was welcome to join them. I had never been there, so it sounded like a good idea. I've heard that Drifters is kind of a clone of the famous In-N-Out burgers in California, although I've never been there either.

It's a mostly typical fast food joint, but seemed somewhat Spartan - the kitchen was huge, and had lots of empty space. The menu is very limited - you can get a burger, chicken sandwich, and fries. They also have a breakfast menu.

I ordered a double cheeseburger combo... with bacon.

"We don't serve bacon at lunch.", replied the cashier.

After a moment of stunned silence I wittily replied, "Really?"

"Yeah, that's a breakfast item."

Anyways, I ended up just ordering a double cheeseburger combo.. with no bacon :( I don't care how awesome In-N-Out burger is, any place that won't put bacon on my burger is lame, in my opinion. I don't know if this is something Drifter's got from them, or if its something they came up with on their own... but it sucks!

The burger was pretty good, but had a few too many onions. They could have gone lighter on the Thousand Island dressing as well. It was above average as far as fast food fare goes. I just couldn't get over the bacon thing. Lame!
