Cheesesteak... The Way It Should Be Taste Of Philly

I love Taste of Philly. This place is generally my fallback plan when I can't think of where else to go. So when a friend suggested we go there for lunch, of course I said "yes!"

I went with the whole mushroom philly with provolone. It was a great choice.

This sandwich was awesome. The steak was grilled to perfection and the mushrooms with it. The provolone had been melted on the steak while still on the grill, and while mild, does a lot for the sandwich. I ate at a cheesesteak shop in Philadelphia once (John's Roast Pork), and they had "sharp provolone" as a cheese option; it was so incredible, I regret that I've never seen it anywhere else. But even without the sharp Provolone, Taste of Philly makes one fine cheesesteak sandwich.

Oh, I can't forget about the roll. Taste of Philly is one of the few shops around that uses Amarosa rolls, which have a hard, slightly chewy outside, but are soft in the middle, and they are the proper roll for cheesesteaks. Good job Taste of Philly!

Great restaurant, great sandwich, great experience.
