Turn On The Lights, Please! Front Range Barbeque

I went to Front Range BBQ with Forrest for lunch today. It's in an old Victorian style house on West Colorado, but its pretty easy to spot. Parking is very limited, but you might get lucky and find a spot in the tiny lot behind the building, accessable from the alley. If you can't park there, just park on the side of the street somewhere and hoof it.

It was very dim inside - Forrest and I thought it was quite romantic. Fortunately for him, I was more interested in the Beef Brisket Sandwich I saw on the menu. I ordered mine with Red Beans and Rice.

There are three choices of BBQ sauce at the table. I went for the sweet and spicy one. Without the sauce, the meat seemed very dry. Even with some sauce, it was fairly dry. After dousing the top with sauce, I ended up turning my entire sandwich over, removing the bottom bun, and dousing the bottom of the meat too. That made it perfect.

After sorting out the BBQ sauce issue, the sandwich was very good. The red beans and rice were pretty good, but I didn't think they were great. I certainly wasn't dissatisfied with my meal.

The price was fair - I paid about 10 bucks for lunch. It was a nice change of pace from our usual BBQ haunt near work (Slayton's), and cost slightly cheaper, and was about the same quality.
