I took my family to one of our favorites today, for a slightly late lunch. We sat down, and it wasn't log before our waitress greeted us and took our drink order. My son really wanted chocolate milk, but they didn't have it, so he tried a Yoohoo chocolate drink instead. The waitress didn't keep the other drinks straight (two Mr Pibb's and a Diet Coke), so we had to sip them to figure out which was which. She apologized, and told us it was only her 2nd day. She ended up apologizing to us about 5 times during our visit, mostly for no reason - she was doing fine
Normally we get fries, but I was in the mood for onion rings instead. The price difference is pretty astounding - you can get fries for around two bucks, but the onion rings cost nearly five, and you don't get nearly as much food. Still, they were cooked perfectly, and tasted very good.
For my sandwich, I decided to go with the Monterey Chicken. Its chicken, mushrooms, and provolone, on an Amoroso roll, with ranch dressing.
Upon arrival, I noticed that the chicken was slightly charred - I was worried that it would be dry. Upon biting into it, however, I realized I was very mistaken. This sandwich is awesome. The mushrooms are grilled slightly, but not sauteed, the chicken was tender and delicious, I love the cheese, and the ranch adds a bit of moisture and a slight tang to each bite. Yummy!
The sandwich was so big and full, that I couldn't quite eat it all.
We come here a fair amount because we like the food and atmosphere, and we are never disappointed.
