A good friend sent me an IM asking what I was doing for lunch. I hadn't made any plans, so he asked if I wanted something cheap. He told me to meet him at Borriello Brother's, just east of Nevada, on Platte.
Parking looks like it could be a little bit exciting - there aren't many spots, and the spots there are are very small, and the driving space near them is very cramped. There are imposing concrete poles sticking out of the ground, I imagine to protect the building. We didn't have any trouble though, since we got there pretty early.
They have a lunch deal, written on a whiteboard behind the cashier: two slices of pizza and a drink for five bucks! Five bucks! I ordered that, and since my lunch was so cheap, I decided to splurge and get some Tiramisu as well. Unfortunately, they had "just run out of Tiramisu last night". Thats probably better for my body (but not for my soul).
The food was ready immediately - the cashier just grabbed two pieces from a big heater case next to her and threw 'em on some paper plates.
I'm still in awe that I got all that for five bucks! The pizza is thin crust, and tasted fine. Service was friendly and fast. Overall, I had no real complaints (except that they were out of Tiramisu!)
As we were leaving, my buddy backed his 4 Runner into one of those concrete poles and put a dent in his bumper. Ooops! Be careful parking there, there really isn't much room!
