Joey's Pizza Joey's Pizza

In this town, when it comes to New York style pizza, Boriello Brothers gets all the love. It's easy to overlook a smaller, non-chain shop like Joey's. Don't! Overlook Joey's that is. It's just as good as Boriello Brothers, and they have the same low priced lunch deals.

The shop is tiny. There are 4 booths and a counter. They've got great lunch deals - 2 slices of cheese pizza and a drink for $4.99, or make it pepperoni for a dollar more. In addition, you can get a cannoli for dessert for another buck. That's a full lunch with dessert for 6 or 7 dollars! Where else can you do that?

I was feeling flush, so I went for the peperonni slices and a cannoli. It was delicious. The cheese was awesome, and the pepperoni was plentiful. The pizza wasn't too greasy, and the crust was perfectly crisp. The slices are so big, sometimes you have to tear them into smaller pieces or fold them in half to eat them.

I wasn't sure what a cannoli was, so I asked Joey. He told me it was a pastry tube stuffed with sweetened cheese and chocolate chips. That's exactly what I got, and it was delicious. I was curious about the cheese so I asked him about that - he told me it was marscapone.

If you are on a budget, or just in the mood for pizza, I can't reccommend Joey's enough. I'll definitely be back!
